Description
An antique Art Nouveau pendant necklace with beautiful AN lines and shapes. The enamel is cobalt blue and turquoise, fading to a grass green at the base of the design. There is a touch of the Jugendstil designs of the era too. A very pretty necklace, complete with her original baroque pearl drop.
The central sweeping line in silver culminates in two stylised leaf forms at the top of the pendant. The enamelled central structure is bold and bright and complements the plain silver beautifully. The delicate baroque pearl drop is perfect and very difficult to replicate today as the pearls just never look the same as these originals drops. The pendant is suspended by two chains attached to a large link, through which the original chain slots. It may have had a catch replacement over the years.
The pendant drop measures approx 6.7cm from the link at the top of the two chains to the bottom of the pearl. The wearable length of the chain is approx 47cm (18.5 inches). The pendant is stamped “STERLING” to the verso. In excellent condition.
