A really very pretty Arts and Crafts necklace, c1910 with open backed faceted amethyst pastes of such a lovely dusky, subdued purple. I love the double coiled silver links running between each stone. A lovely touch rather than just plain round links.
I also love the open backed design for the pastes so it ensures maximum light through them. The four sets of double claws also look very pretty “grabbing” onto each stone.
The chain is original to the piece and comes with its original barrel clasp fastener, stamped STERLING. The stones each measure approx 1.2cm in height and the wearable length of the chain is approx 41cm (16 inches).
