Description
A delightful brooch with full UK hallmarks for 1991 and London, which even has maker’s marks but I just can’t identify the maker at this point. It is stamped I.S.
I love the Arts and Crafts nature of the design and the way it is punctuated with two red coral cabochons, set in a fine mille grain setting. A very organic scrolled A , which looks beautiful when worn.
It would polish further if you so desire. In very nice condition, with a teeny wobble in the pin and it looks like a tiny mark (under the loupe) on one of the coral cabochons but I think the latter is merely a fault line within the actual coral.
A striking piece, to celebrate yourself or someone else-it measures approx 5.7cm by 4.1cm so is a lovely size to get noticed!
