A sleek and sophisticated English c1900 design and expertly crafted by hand, this has all the touches of a piece sold at Liberty’s of London. Pleasingly it retains its original toggle fastener, which is, again, identical to other Liberty pieces I have sold over the years. It is a crisp and elegant design incorporating four round moonstones with a good degree of adularescence.
I love the clusters of four sterling silver balls at strategic points around the central moonstones and the amazing knife-edge drop is so exaggerated which makes it rather special. A wonderful oval moonstone has been used on the drop, again with the four silver ball motif. The images really do not do this necklace justice-it is difficult to capture well because of the long drop, as well as because of the nature of moonstones.
In superb condition and a joy to look at, including the incredibly neat settings and circles to the verso. A joy of a thing!
The pendant drop measures a touch over 8cm and the length of the chain is approx 44.5cm (approx 17.5 inches). Four moonstones crafted superbly in a sterling silver necklace.
