A beautiful swan glides through the water and the message is of love, Victorian antique c1900

Out of stock

A lovely antique Victorian swan locket, with such a beautiful hand-painted scene of the swan with her wings up moving majestically through the water. It was created in the c1900 Victorian era and it carries a message of love, of course, the swan represents eternal love, as the birds pair for life. I love the aquas and greens on the enamel as it really makes the white of the swan stand out. I have seen one or two other bird designs in this type of locket but not a swan like this. It is very pretty.

The enamel portrait is set in a gold frame and there is also a fabulously chased (engraved) gold verso to the piece. The structure is in brass I believe, in order to support the locket structure and to give it a little more strength. There are some engraved initials to the verso but I just can’t decipher them as they are very ornate. The locket is in pleasing condition with light wear only and no dings or damage to the gold. The gold test as 9ct -no markings, which is quite typical in these pieces. It measures approx 4.1cm in height, including the bale. It is ready to pop onto one of your fine gold chains, as this listing is for the pendant only.

I shall send in a new box (not the box in the images) and by Special Delivery within the UK or else by Royal Mail’s international Tracked and Signed internationally. Thank you.
