A beautiful, finely crafted statement ring from the c1900 era, very much demonstrating the very best features of Arts and Crafts design. This has every feel of a Birmingham School piece, by a quality maker. I thought Blackband or even Cuzner. The leaves are hand worked and very stylised. They have been applied individually by hand and arranged in a similar way on each shoulder. So beautiful!!!
When I say carefully crafted, there are many features which elevate this to a top piece of Arts and Crafts work. The ergonomic fit of the ring on your finger, with the curves just in the right place for it to sit comfortably. The beautiful varied nature of the two rope work twisted elements running through the whole design, including all the way around the band.
The carved jade stone is mesmerisingly huge. The greens are pure and so pleasing….executed in the stone in the colour we recognise as green “jade”. The cabochon measures approx 2cm by 1.5cm.
This ring is an absolute gem of a treasure! It measures as approx UK size M (US size 6). If you ever wished to own a typical A&C ring of heritage-this would be a perfect piece for you. Green stones also represent the heart chakra, and that is a lovely connection too.
No markings (as is typical). In excellent order, both the silver work and the jade. I shall include the new black and cream gift box you see in some of the images. The antique box is not included.
