An extremely rare Arts and Crafts ring, which, rather unusually, has a bezel-set blue tourmaline set among leaves and flowers created in high carat gold. It tests as a minimum of 15ct gold and really reminds me of some of the work of some of the more prestigious Arts and Crafts designers. It is exquisitely crafted onto a sort of square openwork framework and then decorated in typical Arts and Crafts style. I really went down a rabbit hole of John Paul Cooper and Henry Wilson and still have not nailed attribution- still working on this one!

There are distinctive leaves with stalks, berries and flowers with large leaves on the shoulders of the ring, that have three gold balls at their centre. I adore the detailing all over this gorgeous ring, but especially the fine work on each shoulder. The gold against the sparkling light blue of the tourmaline is achingly beautiful too. It is very much a rarity to find such an antique Arts and Crafts ring executed in gold, as much more often you find them in silver. She is a fabulous ring and a pleasure to wear!

No markings but, as mentioned, tests as a minimum of 15ct gold. It is approx UK size M.5 (US 6.25). Such a comfortable ring to wear and admire. The stone is in pleasing condition and the only noteworthy thing is that, with the loupe, I can see a small stalk from one of the leaves may be missing around the stone area. However, it absolutely does not detract or indeed, is noticeable unless you scrutinise for it.

A rare and amazing thing clearly by one of the best makers, as the design and quality of detail is super. You may well recognise the flower motifs and know the maker- I have seen them before but just haven’t been able to nail the maker yet. Very unusual when you look at the reverse as I can’t tell if the band is original…handcrafted feel…or whether the ring has been skilfully rebanded. Let’s assume it is original as there are some fine ball details at the bottom of the shoulders, which surely would have been disrupted in a band replacement.

I will send by courier internationally and by Special Delivery within the UK, in a new gift box. Thank you.
