Description
A thoroughly covetous design in this quality Edwardian c1910 pendant, crafted throughout in 15ct yellow gold. It also carries the Edwardian “15 Ct” stamp clearly to the verso of the pendant. This is not a lightweight lavalier as you usually find, but a solid and beautiful pendant with a rigid structure, that does not use the more typically seen seed pearls to adorn the peridots; it is set with no less than 18 old cut diamonds. Perhaps a special 18th birthday or anniversary present…she is a beauty!
As you can see, the peridots are sensational in colour, vibrant and well-matched. Each has been carefully bezel-set with a finely worked mille grain finish to the settings. How wonderful to find three shapes of peridots in the design too-oval, round and pear-shaped. The three drops are on knife-edge links, with the longest drop in the centre being set with two peridots, as well as a diamond.
Definitely one of the most fabulous Edwardian pendants I have come across in a long while. In excellent condition and ready to make someone’s heart fill with joy. A quality high carat gold and diamond pendant that captures the vitality of the beautiful peridot stones. I have used one of my own chains to demonstrate it in one of the images but that is not included in the listing. It would suit any fine gold chain you have. Pendant height to top of bale is approx 5.5cm.
