An antique Arts and Crafts brooch, which reminds me hugely of the work of Mary Thew. Also reminiscent of Amy Sandheim, who used this type of “spine” rope work detailing. Who does not love this kind of orange and yellow combination of stones – it is so very eye-catching and perfect for the Spring and, indeed, also for the sunny summer.

The two types of rope work detailing (different thicknesses) are just like those in Thew’s work, then the three silver balls and the choice of stones in their very organically hand-crafted way all remind me of her work. I have just not seen this type of leaf (there are two types of leaves in the design). It is a wonderfully pretty flower bouquet design and as mentioned, the stone selection is superb. One navette-shaped cabochon of citrine and then four oval cabochons of carnelian.  A striking, hand crafted Arts and Crafts brooch.

It measures approx 7.2cm in width and will make a lovely addition to an outfit. So photogenic, as you can see. I shall send by tracked and signed in a new gift box. Boxes in the images are for display only-thank you!
