This is a lovely piece of Arts and Crafts jewellery, c1900 by Liberty & Co of London, which is a known Liberty design from their sketches’ records. It is a finely executed piece in lovely condition and the shape of the bale indicates to me that this was made by William Hair Haseler for Liberty.

The design on this pendant is really very intricate. Lots of coils and sinuous lines, with the addition of tiny silver balls in clusters of three, giving a nod to the Birmingham School Arts and Crafts.

In the centre of the design, sits a beautiful pearl with a fabulous lustre of blues and pinks. It is in a finely mille grained setting. The level of craftsmanship is really superlative. When you look at it closely or else hold it in your hand-you realise why Haseler was held in such high esteem.

To have the original chain, complete with the quirky catch Haseler / Liberty’s used on some of these Arts and Crafts necklaces, is just so satisfying. A partnership meant to be together so it is super to have the pair. Loaded with romance these pieces I think!

The pendant measures approx 3.3cm in height, including the bale and the chain measures approx 44.5cm (17.5 inches) in length. No marks on either, but this is a confirmed Liberty design and so is the catch on the chain. A beautiful necklace!

I will package in a new gift box. Thank you!
