Description

What an amazing find, with three very lively black opals in this classic, 9ct gold, c1910 Edwardian lavalier design. The stones are a complete knock-out with their blue, purple and green flashes. The largest stone, at the bottom of the drop, is especially swoon-worthy with its electric blues and greens. An opulent example of these fabulous Edwardian lavaliers, with three graduated black opals and two seed pearls. This is a stunning piece of design, beautifully executed with the most interesting black opals and it certainly will not be easy to find another.

A sleek and elegant piece of antique jewellery, screaming unhindered quality at you. Each opal has been set in its own mille grained gold bezel setting. The two long, knife-edge sections of gold used as links are each set with a small seed pearl. It is a beautiful piece and with the extra long drop, looks especially flattering when worn. The pendant section measures approx 6.2cm in height.

The original 9ct gold trace chain is stamped near the clasp with the old Edwardian stamp on a little plaque “9CT”. The chain measures approx 42.5cm (16.75 inches) in length. A dream lavalier!
