Description
Oh my goodness-I feel so emotionally attached to this piece already ….I will simply have to tear myself away from her, to sell her! :-)) A stunning and exceedingly scarce Danish Art Nouveau (called Skonvirke in Danish) necklace from the c1900 era in Copenhagen, carrying full maker’s marks of “TL” for the designer Theodor Larsen of Copenhagen, Denmark. I cannot stress the rarity of the piece- you hardly ever find Skonvirke necklaces like this-it is more usual to find these pieces as statement brooches.
It has a hugely attractive design, which is very pleasing both to look at and to wear. That large central flower plaque and then the festoon style of the drops with those chains too -gosh, it is a stunner! Added to that, it has four gorgeously blue Ceylon moonstones which are some of the bluest moonstones I have ever come across. You can begin to get a sense of the rare thing she is.
As if all of that were not enough- look at the beautifully unique and hand-crafted silver chain accompanying her. What a treat – the original (and highly unusual) chain.
The pendant measures approx 7.3cm in height and the chain measures approx 49.5cm (15.5inches) in length. A beautiful piece in excellent order (some patina so would polish further if you desire) and a wonderful addition to anyone’s antique jewellery collection. I shall send in a new gift box by Special Delivery within the UK or else by courier internationally. Thank you.
