Such a rare thing by Bernard Instone c1930, which is featured on p171 of Tracy Henriksen’s book about the same “Bernard Instone Designer and Craftsman; the art of a jeweller”. This is the only one like this I have ever come across and it is just a wonderful example of a well-executed, hand-crafted Arts and Crafts piece. As you can see, I have left the patina, mainly as it adds such richness and depth to the roundel, which has been hand hammered (planished).
A large piece where the simplicity of the design is allowed to sing. Three curled branches lead from the centrally set mother-of-pearl cabochon towards the outer edge. They are curled and set at such an angle as to suggest movement in a sort of Catherine wheel design. An elegant and unusual piece, which is signed with Bernard’s maker’s mark to the verso.
In all original condition and having been well looked-after. It measures approx 4.3cm in diameter. If you prefer your silver shiny, it would be an easy polish to get that effect on the piece.
I shall send by Special Delivery within the UK or else by International Tracked and signed. Box in the images is not included but I will send it in a new gift box so it is well protected. Thank you.
