A really beautiful design, which uses pale grey to blue enamel and a large adularescent Ceylon blue moonstone. Hand crafted in c1900 and adhering to the Arts and Crafts principles of design, it features foliate and floral decoration, in which the petals are picked out in pale grey and dark blue enamels. This shows off the large blue moonstone to the best degree. Lovely!

A triangular top panel is decorated with a single flower, which is flanked by a leaf on either side. There is a tiny silver ball to either side of each loop for the chain. I love the extended silver links, which connect the top panel to the large pendulous main panel. The links are decorated with tiny silver forget-me-nots. It is such precise and intricate work.

That wonderful blue moonstone is the main attraction but it is so beautifully accompanied by the cluster of three enamel flowers and the surrounding leaves. It is really is a stunning combination of motifs and colours. There is a typical A&C fine rope work border around each of the two panels to finish it off neatly. This is a unique piece of work and you will not find another.

The pendant measures approx 6.2cm in height and the original silver chain is approx 59.5cm (23.5 inches) long. It has had a catch replacement at some time in its history. In pleasing, as -made condition. One minute nibble to one flower petal was all I could find to mention. An exquisite study in blues.
