An eye-catching beauty of a piece from England c1900, all crafted by hand and set with bright citrines and carnelians. The foliate work on this unique Arts and Crafts piece really is so dense and if you flip the pendant over you can see the astonishing work that has actually gone into making this gorgeous pendant.
An openwork design is set with sprays of leaves and punctuated by tiny silver berries. The work, as you can see is fine and precise. Three small carnelians are bezel set to the centre with the largest carnelian set vertically at the base of the pendant. Three bezel-set citrines are also set into the design ensuring there is a wealth of richness of colour- a very autumnal piece actually, in its yellows and oranges.
I have lightly polished the front of the pendant, although there is still patina to the piece which you may prefer to polish further. The stones are all closed-backed so please avoid using liquids. The barrel fastener sterling chain is antique. The only point worth noting is that the bale has obviously been replaced at sometime in her history. A lovely, vivid piece of hand-wrought work which is a unique piece of art.
