A hand-crafted, sterling silver Bernard Instone brooch of a design I have never come across before, dating from the c1930 era.
The hand-tooled leaves, along with spiralled tendrils, have been placed around the pearls so as to “nestle” them in the design. The lustre to the pearls is tremendous so I am assuming they are real rather than synthetic.
This would be a perfect piece to wear down a lapel of a shirt or jacket.
It is a large brooch, measuring approx 10.1cm in length. It is in excellent order, with its original pin (still straight!) and a simple rollover safety catch. There is some patina, which would polish away if you prefer it gone. I shall leave that to you. A very pretty thing in a rare design.
