These are the only matching pair of Instone dress clips I have ever come across. They were part of a suite of a rather more upmarket range in the 1930s, and are so beautifully hand-crafted, with each leaf being hand-tooled and placed carefully in position. You only need to compare both clips to see how each has different formations of leaves. They feature impressive rectangular citrines and are studded underneath by round faceted peridots.
I have seen this design as ear clips previously, and also as an impressive pendant, however, I have never seen dress clips in this design. It is made even sweeter by having a matching pair. Dress clips are being used more and more again, on clothes and on shoes. You could even wear as a pendant by threading a chain behind one of the clips.
The versos are neat and tidy with an Instone design. Just superb things and very much a rarity. In excellent order too, with stones all in excellent order on both clips. Average diameter is approx 2.8cm. Sterling silver tested, as are the stones.
