A wonderful, substantial and heavy book chain collar, crafted in sterling silver in the Victorian era, late 1800s. This is a fabulously constructed piece with those lovely solid ball details on the bottom of each link.
This has to be one of the most attractive solid sterling silver designs I have come across on a Victorian collar like this. She will wear as a choker style necklace and there is also a hidden link underneath, from which a pendant can be suspended…hurrah. Two looks in one fabulous piece of jewellery.
In pleasing condition. The silver tongue catch works well and closes with a definite click. It is a lovely, statement piece with a width of approx 2cm. The length is approx 42cm (16.5 inches). It weighs a substantial 65.2g. Not marked (as is fairly typical for Victorian pieces like this) but does tests as sterling.
I shall post in a new gift box (boxes in the images are for display only) by complimentary Tracked and Signed post. Thank you.
